My name is Xavier Cruzado, born in Barcelona on June 15, 1968, at the height of the social upheaval. The book falls within the genre of fictional crime novels on a historical basis. The work has a very visual and personal writing style, inspired by the world of conspiracy and police thrillers, and pays tribute to authors such as Dan Brown and Ian Fleming, whose works have influenced me. The story is framed in the corrupt plot within political and ecclesiastical power, both under the same shadow power. Under multiple real events, I build a fictional story, but always keeping the real and historical background that was lived at the time in which it is developed. All the public figures that are reflected in the novel and the events in which they are involved, are real and can be consulted through the newspaper archives of the time. After 3 months of research, in which I had the great pleasure and honor of telling With the help of the best Spanish criminologist, Professor Vicente Garrido, between interviews with victims of abuse, police forces, etc., and after 4 more months of writing with total dedication, "Reino de Sombras" emerged. I hope you enjoy reading and "teleport" into the action, as a row 0 spectator.

I will tell you about the last book I had in my hands, a hectic mix of horrible murders, intrigues about the Vatican and impunity and silence in the face of the worst sins committed by some members of the Catholic Church. No... I'm not talking about one of the novels of the well-known Dan Brown, I mean the book "Reino de Sombras" by the author Xavier Cruzado.
A thriller that keeps you in tension from the beginning to the end

With that synopsis, there is no doubt that we are facing a conflictive and disturbing scenario that already indicates the battles that this noir work is going to take. Broadly speaking, we could limit it by saying that it is a dark thriller. And so it is, but if we add to that the introductory note of the author (The main characters and their personal circumstances are mere fiction. Any name of secondary character has been chosen at random, so the facts associated with these are also part of However, the facts and names of public figures that are presented have been extracted from verified information and published in various Spanish media and communication agencies between 2005 and 2010.), we have before us a rough and dangerous novel, which deals with aspects as sinuous as pederasty within the church and vindictive justice. With that, the first praise for the work is the courage that the author has had to develop a plot around certain issues that can raise blisters in a society that has lived silently in the face of the events that are narrated, and in which today still too many embers remain from those fires. To flesh out the plot, the man from Barcelona has shown off an elaborate historical documentation. Likewise, he has had the advice of the well-known writer and criminologist Vicente Garrido (also a co-writer with the author Nieves Abarca of books such as 'Exquisite Crimes').
